Nabors and Canrig were finalists for six 2023 Gulf Energy Excellence Awards in five categories: Mid/Small-Cap Energy Firm of the Year (Nabors Industries), Best Controls, Instrumentation, Automation Technology – Upstream (SmartROS® and SmartPOWER™), Best Digital Transformation – Upstream (Nabors and Corva Predictive Drilling), Best Drilling Technology (RZR Rig Floor Automation Module) and Best Oilfield Fluids and Chemicals (nanO2®).
The awards ceremony was held at the Post Oak Hotel in Houston, on October 11, 2023.

Canrig won Best Drilling Technology for its Red Zone Robotics (RZR) Rig Floor Automation Module. A modular, capital-light solution that automates routine land drilling activities, the RZR module enables hands-free pipe handling and removes crews from hazardous red zones. The technology comes at a fraction of the cost of a new build and can be deployed on any AC rig to optimize drilling operations and performance.
