Nabors and Canrig were finalists for six 2023 Gulf Energy Excellence Awards in five categories: Mid/Small-Cap Energy Firm of the Year (Nabors Industries), Best Controls, Instrumentation, Automation Technology – Upstream (SmartROS® and SmartPOWER™), Best Digital Transformation – Upstream (Nabors and Corva Predictive Drilling), Best Drilling Technology (RZR Rig Floor Automation Module) and Best Oilfield Fluids and Chemicals (nanO2®).
The awards ceremony was held at the Post Oak Hotel in Houston, on October 11, 2023.
Nabors won Mid/Small-Cap Energy Firm of the Year, highlighting the company’s strengths in innovation and excellence. Canrig won Best Drilling Technology for its Red Zone Robotics (RZR) Rig Floor Automation Module. A modular, capital-light solution that automates routine land drilling activities, the RZR module enables hands-free pipe handling and removes crews from hazardous red zones. The technology comes at a fraction of the cost of a new build and can be deployed on any AC rig to optimize drilling operations and performance.
